I don't believe in fairies, but I would if
I had seen what some of you have seen. If you have had a personal experience
with fairies that you would like to share, send
it it to me for this section. (It must be plausible for me to print it,
convincing enough to convince me that you are serious.) Make the subject
FAIRY ENCOUNTER.

[Please remember what Freud said about cigars.
There are often mundane explanations for unusual experiences. Migraine
headaches, for example, can cause a person to see flickering colored lights.]

"I've believed in fairies for quite a while
now, but not until about one month ago was I completely convinced. It was
afternoon and my mother and I were in my garden looking at the flowers
when a beautiful butterfly landed on one of my zinnias. Drat! The perfect
photo opportunity and I didn't have my camera! (I love taking nature photos.)
My mom ran inside to grab it but it took her about 5 minutes and when she
returned--the butterfly was still there! It wasn't weird until the butterfly
left the flower to go flutter in circles around my mom, then me. Seeing
the camera, it perched itself on the the zinnia closest to me and spread
its wings wide! Wow- was that just a photogenic butterfly? Somehow I don't
think so. I think it was a fairy. No one has ever said that they can't
take the form of a butterfly! Tonight is the Solstice so I left out
a little note and a gift for the fairies ; ) P. S.: If you wanted
to include my age, I'm 12. Just so people who were wondering the age group
fairies prefer and stuff.... etc. etc. etc..." - Camila

"I have always been inloved with faeries and
mermaids since i was very little. we movec into this new house in san jacinto
about a year ago. my mom said she knew this priest from the philippines
and they were very good friends. he said to her that if she put a lot of
faerie statues in the front yard, it would attract faeries and bring wealth
into the family. So my mom started to do that, at first everything was
just normal. Then circles of mushrooms started appearing in the front yard
and frogs as well. Our neighbors started asking why we were the only ones
who had it. So i started to believe that we had faeries and i left milk
for them every other night. One night my mom and little bro were in the
back yard. My bro was by the pool and he doesnt like to talk about this
because he was very scared, but he said he saw a little girl on the floor,
and he could see her legs and arms and it looked like she had an instrument
as well. It scared me at first but i wish i could have seen one. but sadly
my dad mowed the lawn and the mushrooms haven't grown back. This is true
so i hope you believe me ." - Crizelle

"I have seen fairies on
four occasions the last was when I was 11 year old the first encounter
was when I was 5. I had just lost my first tooth and my father has bought
me a book about tooth fairies. He read the book for me and in it a child
was taken to fairy land in a blanket. I held my tooth and looked
up at the sky and wished I could have that too. That night I went to sleep
and felt I was being lifted up and floating. A blanket was beneath me and
was rippling I could feel the wind rush over my face. I wanted to open
my eyes but I couldn't. I tried so hard but something was stopping them.
I awoke in a thump like I had been dropped from the sky. I rushed into
my parents room and exclaimed ''did you see me? I was in the fairies' blanket''.
They went along with it since I was so young but that was my first encounter.
The second took place when I was older and was
at dance practice. The dance hall was in front of a large grassy field
and the tap for water was out the front. I needed to wash my face so I
ran out to the front where the tap was took a drink and looked up. Floating
in front of my face was a bright round light. Inside was bright white and
around it was a yellow, golden hue. I saw wings, the tips, coming out from
the circle of light and it was floating in mid-air. I blinked and it disappeared.
My third encounter occured at the age of 11.
We moved house and had a very old tree with a hole at the bottom. I believed
this was a fairy house. One summer night I walked down the back stairs
and heard a rustling coming from the tree above me. I looked and a rainbow
light sped out of the tree and into the opposite hedge. Sparks flew off
the light, it flew faster than a bird or anything I had ever seen before.
I ran over to the hedge and could hear rustling but could not see anything.
I ran inside to tell my mother and we both looked but the fairy was gone.
My fourth encounter was meant for my mother.
I glimpsed the end of this enounter. She was in the kitchen and suddenly
called for me to come look. I went to the doorway and there outside in
the tree was the rainbow light, purples and blues and reds changing and
mixing and it was floating. It was in the shape of a diamond. It disappeared
after I had seen it. I beleive the fairy came back for my mother so she
would beleive me.
After my last encounter we moved and the tree
was cut down. I was very sad as I saw it as my fairy tree and it should
have stayed. I hold on to those memories and sightings and will always
know that what I saw was real and special." - Niomie-//
