 "My fairy encounter happened at school when I was in 5th grade, I had always believed in fairies and I still do. While we were at recess I had started the subject about fairies, all my friends said they had seen them before, but all there stories seemed fake, when the teacher told us to line up we did but we still kept talking about fairies. And while I was walking down the sidewalk I saw this figure appearing to be a female, and it was dancing around me, and as soon as I blinked it was gone. I was in shock and couldn't speak for a second then I quickly went to my friends side and said that I had saw a fairy dancing around me. They said they didn't see one so I must be imaging things. But I wasn't I actually saw a small female figure with butterfly-like wings. She had long dark hair and was wearing green. I didn't tell anybody because I knew they wouldn't believe me. And from then on I always believed in fairies."

     "I remember the time I was laying in bed one night, looking out the window. I was just dozing off when something dark orange caught my eye. It had happened so fast I was not sure what I had seen.ÝI thought about the shape and size and thought: Maybe it was fairy wings! And, yes, they were! They had been four wing in all. The bigger ones were on top and the littler ones on the bottom. They had been roundish and glowed an orange a little lighter than the color of the wings.ÝAlso, the next morning, I saw a little blue girl dive behind one of the paintings on my shelf."

     "Hello, My name is Charlotte Matthews. It was about five years ago, when I was about 16, during the summer at about 9pm, when I was walking down the lane from my friend's house I saw a tiny figure that looked like a moth in the hedgerow. I decided to investigate as I am a keen entomologist, so I quietly crept towards it. I didn't know at first it looked like a large moth or butterfly, then when I was about a meter away from it I saw the tiny body of a fairly young girl with wings like a butterfly. I was not imagining things, she was sitting in the hedge singing in the most beautiful voice. She fluttered out of sight into the field behind the hedge. Since I was 16 I have never told anyone because I thought they would never believe me."

    "This is my fairy encounter. I have believed ever since. I was 11 years old (I'm 38 now, so this was in 1976). My parents were having a big political party downstairs in our house as my dad was running for Sheriff. I was finally sent up to bed, but I could still hear the music downstairs & wished I could still be enjoying all the adult company! I climbed in my bed, which was next to a window. It was raining and I was just watching the rain drip down the glass. Suddenly I froze, because there was a little person inside one of the raindrops! I blinked, I scrutinized, but I kept seeing her! She was tiny and seemed to be playing inside the drop. She didn't seem to be aware of me & she was kind of see-thru, not really, but the colors of her clothing and skin were muted so that it looked a bit see-thru. ( I do remember she had long hair and was VERY tiny) I SO wanted to run down and get my mother, but I was scared it would disappear if I did. I watched for what seemed a very long time & then raced to the door to head down to tell my mom. But I suddenly jumped back up on my bed to look at her one last time in case she disappeared, and in that instant, she was gone. I was so sad I cried and thought about it all night. I knew it was a very rare expeience and knew even then that it was  very unlikely I would ever see such a thing again. I never have, but I have no doubt such things exist. I saw one with my own eyes, and I was fairly old at the time. I hope I have the chance to see one again before I leave this planet!" Keri Cahill, Massachusetts

    "U might think i'm crazy but that's fine cuz i don't know ya.Just recently I have seen a ceremony that some faeries were doing.I was watching tv when i had this strong feeling to turn it off, so i did.Then a voice in my head told me to put my ceremony dress on(i'm a shamaness), i did that to.Then a force pushed me toward my window.All this is happening at about 9PM.It's raining hard and then i hear the rain's music.The time signiture was 3 over 4.Then i saw these small(about 5 inches) winged femine creatures dancing to the rythym of the rain.That was two months ago.Since then ihave been drawn to crystal fragments scatttered around my yard.They all come from one rock." -Jessica,12

    "This happened to me only the other day, which is how I came to find your site. I live in a most beautiful part of the countryside in England. I decided to go with my mother to watch her riding lesson at the farm where she keeps her horse. The farm itself is stunning with acre upon acre of rich green fields, filled with wild flowers as the owners have never used any form of artificial fertiliser on their land. I had heard that a rare breed of orchid was found on the farm and finding my mother's lesson rather boring I set off in search.
    I have no idea about flowers but I spied a beautiful tiny purple flower close to a cluster of nettles, so I sat down to sketch it. As I sat there I noticed a butterfly out of the corner of my eye, as I sat there perfectly still hoping to view it better as it would make a welcomed edition to my picture, I noticed it had the most unusual golden colouring, and was very small. It landed on the flower gently. I slowly edged my way forward hoping I wouldn't scare it off when I noticed that the body wasn't that of a butterfly, I couldn't make out completely what at first as it was facing away from me, I continued to edge closer until I was only a few inches away, suddenly it turned round which completely threw me and I drew backwards. It slowly and gracefully rose into the air until it was level with my face and came towards me.
    I then realised that it had the body of a young girl, it came closer until it was only a few inches from my face. I was frozen still, daring not breath in case it scared it off. Suddenly without warning it flew upwards out of sight and disappeared. I sat there for several minutes trying to take in what I had seen and hoping that it would come back. It didn't. I ran back to my mother, and when I told her what I had seen she just laughed and didn't believe me, but I know what I saw!" - Joanna

    "When I was about 6 there was an old little rusted wagon filled with flowers and herbs. I didn't understand why we still had that wagon but my parents said that it was my great-great aunt's. One day I was looking at on of the flowers and all of a sudden it well, um, bloomed. I was so amazed. I tried to call for my parents but my mouth went dry and I couldn't speak. I saw walking out on one of the petals a beautiful well, what I believe to be a fairy. It was definitely female. It had bright blonde hair and ice blue eyes. It was wearing a beautiful pink gown and it had tiny little elegant wings. I stared at it inn awe. The little fairy waved to me and I gasped. I screamed as loud as I possibly could. The little fairy said "Don't be afraid child. It is only me, Besia." I stopped screaming and ran inside. 'Till this day I still don't ! understand my encounter." -anonamu

    "Once when I was about 10, I was staying at my Aunt's house for the summer. She lived in Port Ludlow, Washington, in a house by the ocean. It was an unusually hot day and I was laying in the field in front of their house. Suddenly inspiration struck my cousin and she suggested we turn on the hose and cool off. I decided I would go get the hose and turn it on, little did I know something amazing was about to happen. The hose was between two cabins entangled in lots of vines, flowers, and grass. When I reached down to turn it on a whitish bug flew up right in front of me. Startled I caught my breath and looked up, fluttering in mid-air right in front of my face was a fairy. It was about the size of a tooth pick and was a glowing pale white. I stood there amazed, it floated there like a leaf caught in the wind, I couldn't really tell you what it's face looked like, but it was definitely female and gorgeous. Then ZIP! was gone, it was really fast, all most like light! It was there and then it was gone, in a split second I was in heaven and back. And ever since then I have been fascinated with "mystical creatures". There is a whole other world out there, hidden in secret. I was one of the lucky ones who got to see a part of that world and I will never forget it."

    "Ever since I was really little, i have believed in fairies.  When I was about 10, I saw a fairy.  I was going to bed, my eyes open just a bit and thought i saw something tiptoeing, in the air!  It was a tiny glowing-blue woman's figure, with tiny dragonfly wings.  She landed on my pillow and put her head down. I opened my eyes all the way and looked down at her.  She looked up at me and smiled for bit, and then vanished in thin air." - Amanda

    "When I was about 10 or 11 years old, my friend and I would play in her backyard at night, pretending to be spies and spy on her grandmother inside. As we were hiding behind a bush, we saw what appeared to be a bug with a golden glow.  We thought it was a type of firefly, so we went closer to look.
     There was a small female, with golden wings, sort of like a butterfly's wings, but longer.  In a sense, she reminded me of Tinkerbell from Peter Pan. I was so scared that I started to cry, but she smiled at me and I stopped crying. She stayed for about 5 seconds longer and then flew away.  No one believed my friend and I after that night, but I know what I saw was a fairy, and I have been a believer ever since."

    "In 1989 , i took a walk near a stream, there were lots of trees surrounding the area. All of a sudden i heard a small splash that of course came from the stream. I looked over and I swear i seen something that was not a bug or bird, it was so sudden , but i caught the shape. It was sort of shaped as a very small woman with wings, kind of grayish lavender."  -cassidy
