WEATHER MAGICK
The Power of the Storm

"In 10 minutes, a hurricane releases more energy than all the world's
nuclear weapons combined."

    This came to me in an email ... it REALLY makes you wonder about the nature of Power, magick, and Witches. Not to sound like I am on an ego trip, but it is just amazing to me, the power that can be commanded by a witch, with magick, to impact the world around him/her. I remember working on that Hurricane that was going to hit New Orleans in 1998 ... and it just makes me feel kind of tingly thinking about it. Nature is far more powerful than any construct of man, and all we can do, at best, is tap our abilities to guide nature where we can.

    This is a rather unique approach in magic, and is rather different from the magic majority of witches practice in that there is no summoning or calling upon spirits, Deities, or elementals. I am of the personal belief that the invocation of such things serves more or less as a way for the mortal mind to focus what is inborn.
    If you have a crystal, wand, or some other item that you use as a focus in your magic, you are encouraged to use it, though this magic, for me anyway, has never been dependent upon such things, though they certainly help to reinforce the task to be undertaken. The only thing you must do to prepare for this weather spell is to envision the weather you desire while you 'ground' yourself and allow yourself to be  filled with energy and magic. You must also have VERY STRONG visualization skills for this to work  well. I would suggest you do this early in the morning or at some time in the day when your body is not going to distract you, unless you are one of the few people who have learned to work magic at any time, at will, which is much harder than most would assume, or was for me anyway  : )
    I grasp what can only be described as a glowing white 'thread' from the 'stomach' of my astral body, another from the top back right part of my head on my astral body (this one tends to be gold or purple at times), and then I take a thread I have drawn from the sky. I weave these threads into a strand that looks a lot like a DNA illustration. The stronger my gift of Power is that day, the thicker the strand. I have woven strands that were no larger than a simple piece of sewing thread, to strands that were more like steel cables. It honestly depends on your ability, skill, power and willpower. While I weave the strands I envision the weather I am calling down, and give a summons to the weather, either vocally or mentally.  If I am alone and outdoors, I will shout the summons, or if I am at work or otherwise around distractions, I will make the summons mental - again, I do not think one is 'better' than the other . . I do not think a voice is needed to wield magic, or else no mute people would be born. *( I am just full of opinions : ) * I will then anchor one end of the woven strand, and send the other outward to draw in or cast out the weather, as needed.
    Let me give you a few examples . . . when it is a Storm I am calling, I will 'tie' one end of the strand to the area I am in, and the other I 'tie' to the part of my mind that feels magic, and feed it visions of storms, thunder, lightning, etc. Storm strands I weave tend to be brightly glowing blue/white thread. If it is cold weather I am calling, I will anchor one end of the strand to the region I want cooler, and the other I will send polar north, and I envision my strand acting like a conduit for Arctic Zephyrs. Warm weather I am just recently learning to call (not that I like warm weather, but I thought if I want to learn my art fully, I need to learn it all to the fullest of my ability), and what I do for that is tie one strand to the region I desire to be warmed, and the other I tie to my body, and visualize the area being as warm as my physical body. I am not too sure yet how much 'fine tuning' I need to do with that. This time of year (summer) is obviously not a good time to test one's ability to summon heat.
    I hope this helps any who are interested in it, and do not be discouraged if it is not perfect at the beginning  . . or ever. This is a form of magic that many witches will not have much success with. Again, I do not use any invocation of names in this, I just do not believe in that, but if any adapt this for ceremony and do use invocations, I would be interested in getting a copy of that. WORKING

    At most when I work, I will use one of my rocks (most likely to be my Lapis Lazuli, a clear Quartz, or a large globe of jasper), and when I work weather I will also give a verbal 'summons' such as 'I call upon the full power of the Storm!!' if I desire a storm. Weather seems to be my true strength, though admittedly I have yet to find a weakness in what I do. I hate sounding like a braggart, but I have not. Healing is not a large strength with me, but I can aid anyone that I know of who asks me, and make protective wards. I can drop shields around people that take Divine Intervention and persistence to puncture, and I am almost as good with people as I am with Weather. I have very very rarely tried to dominate someone, and then only when it was a matter of survival, but I know I can do that as well. I view it as 'God' created man with a sense of free will, who am I to pervert that, unless it is my life that is on the line.
    The weather is just about always (I mean 90%-95% of the time) a very true reflection of my mood. I know a lot of people would say that I reflected the weather, but I know that is not always so. The weather can be calm and nice, and I can have a full fledged storm going a few hours later, and vice versa. Admittedly, I very rarely untie storms.. I revel in them, to be honest. A perfect example of this is July 4, 1997. A few days before the 4th some friends of mine who are shopkeepers were preparing for a day they would have a shop booth set up in a park for a town festival, and they needed weather conducive to a large crowd for sales. July 3 it was around 95 degrees, humid, nasty, and unholy hot. The next two days, it got no warmer than 82, was sunny with nice cool breezes, and over all PERFECT weather.

HOW
    It is hard to describe how I work weather without making you visualize it yourself.  It is like I grab a glowing white "thread" from the center of my abdomen, the top right back part of my head, and I weave it with another "thread" that I draw from the sky. I then make the image in my head into a thread. I weave them into something that looks A LOT like a very very large DNA strand. While I weave these things together, I envision the weather/desire that I want, and if I am doing weather, I will usually "shout" mentally my summons, or if I am alone, and outside, i will shout it aloud, again, if it is weather I am doing. For example, if I wish a Storm, I will tie one end of the strand to the area I want it at, if it is cool weather, I will send one end of the strand North. I have yet to work on warming the weather up but I guess if I wanted warm weather I would envision the warmth of my breath or a warm summer breeze, and tie one end to that image. When I make weather strands, they tend to be glowing white and blue strands of energy.. not bright, but still very clear, and a bit muted, if you can understand what I am saying.. it is easier to 'see' it than to describe it.
    I hope that this makes some sense and gives insight into my 'work'.  I have always felt our gifts were given to us to use to protect and strengthen ourselves. I think we *those with inborn magic gifts* were put here to be the Guardians of Creation, and thus we are independent of such things as needing to call upon entities to do our work 'for' us. I have always felt that invocations, candles, etc. were just a way to reinforce and strengthen the ability for most witches to visualize that which they do.
